Miley Helps Haiti
Teen pop star Miley Cyrus, 17 is reportedly the latest celebrity to join the star-studded Haiti relief single being spear-headed by Simon Cowell. The American Idol judge and British-born music exec is coordinating the recording of the R.E.M. cover "Everybody Hurts." The single will be released to raise funds for the Haiti earthquake relief efforts.
Miley Cyrus joins a growing list of stars who have already agreed to lend their voices to the charity single. Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Take That, Michael Bublé, Westlife, Alexandra Burke, James Morrison, Mika and James Blunt will also record their parts for the charity single.Recording for the single has already started. Special technology is being used so artists can record their parts at various times and locations. The recordings will then be blended together for one unified single.
British paper The Sun reports X Factor stars JLS and show judge Cheryl Cole kicked off recording in London on Monday and Leona Lewis hit the studio in LA last night. The effort takes on special meaning for JLS, whose band member, Oritse Williams, lost family in the quake.
There is still no official release date for the single.
