Miley & Liam - Unscripted Interview

Liam Hemsworth; Kissing Miley Was Fun

Liam Hemsworth has admitted that he enjoyed his kissing scenes with his Last Song co-star Miley Cyrus.

The couple, who are now dating, met on the set of Julie Anne Robinson’s adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel.

Hemsworth told Parade: “I guess we did kiss a lot in the film. The hardest thing was the first kiss. Once you got that out of the way, kissing was fun.”

He added: “We spent every day together in Georgia. We were on the set together and hanging out together every day.

“So for me and her, it wasn’t hard to create a good chemistry on screen because we enjoy being around each other in real life. It was just easy.”

Miley; Is Nervous To Leave Hannah Montana

Miley Cyrus has reportedly admitted that she is a “little nervous” about the upcoming end of Hannah Montana.

It was recently confirmed that the Disney franchise featuring Cyrus as a student who leads a double life as a popstar will end with its fourth season.

Speaking to People, she said: “I’m a little nervous now because now it’s like I don’t have something to fall back on. But I’m getting excited.

“I think a lot of pressure is going to be taken off of me. I’m not going to be tied down to a company where they’re like, ‘She sings! She acts!’ I can choose when I want to do music and when to do movies.”

She added: “I won’t have this mold they want me to fit into. I can just be what I want to be.”

The fourth season of Hannah Montana will reportedly premiere later this year, with enough episodes to last until 2011.

Miley; I Can Be A Brat Sometimes

Miley Cyrus has said that she can be the biggest brat of all time on occasion.

The Hannah Montana star told Metro that despite having a good relationship with her mother, she can still annoy her.

Cyrus said: “I have my moments. Oh, I can be the biggest brat of all history, believe me. I fight with my parents but overall we are a very close family.

“My mom and I are closer than any other mother and daughter - people tell us that all the time. It doesn’t mean that I don’t drive her crazy.”

Of her move away from the alter ego that made her famous, Cyrus added: “I want to continue doing work that’s a little edgier but I am not giving up Hannah Montana quite yet.”

'THE LAST SONG' OUT TODAY!

Hollywood Reporter: "The Last Song" Review

Hollywood Reporter: The 17-year-old starlet runs through a gamut of emotions from anger and love to sorrow and joy. She romps on a beach, has a mud fight, saves baby sea-turtles, smooches with a guy and models any number of gowns, even adjusting her breasts in one outfit to emphasize how grown-up she has become.

The movie so deftly mixes sentimentality, romance and bathos in just the right measures that her fans and maybe new ones will enjoy the new Miley.

If publicity notes are to be believed, best-selling author Nicholas Sparks even wrote his novel and screenplay with Cyrus in mind. What more can a girl ask for? Overseeing the production is first-time feature director Julie Anne Robinson, who has worked in British and American television. She can't do much about the contrivances in the script Sparks wrote with an old friend, Jeff Van Wie. But she gives Cyrus room to display a winning personality and charm.

Sparks' shameless formula is to introduce illness, death or social differences to punch emotional buttons and jerk tears. This is a writer who never trusts his characters to move you without these artificial stimulants -- witness such books-to-movies as "Message in a Bottle," "A Walk to Remember," "The Notebook" and only last month "Dear John."

Cyrus' Ronnie Miller is a teen from a broken home who has internalized her bitterness over her parents' divorce and closed off her emotions. Most of her blame, however, is reserved for her father, Steve (Greg Kinnear). Now she and her kid brother (Bobby Coleman) must spend a summer at his Georgia beachfront house, so she's not happy. She pouts and ignores Dad for awhile, but a romance with a beach hunk named Will (Liam Hemsworth, nicely hiding his Australian accent) pulls her out of her funk; she even settles down for a heart-to-heart with Dad.

So where's the story going to go if all conflicts and issues are resolved before the midpoint? Ah, that's where Sparks' special formula comes in. First, Will tells Ronnie about the death of his brother the previous year that shattered his family despite their unimaginable wealth. Then someone -- no spoilers here -- gets sick.

Disney has gone all out to bring its star into her comfort zone. The studio surrounds Cyrus with seasoned pros in Kinnear and Kelly Preston (as her mom), gives her a handsome, almost-too-nice leading man, brings her real mother aboard as executive producer and fills the soundtrack with songs by popular artists, including two songs performed by Cyrus.

The script makes her a gifted pianist, so she doesn't lose that music connection even if she only sings on camera for a few moments. And a message about music and familial love bringing joy to one's life strays not one bit off the Disney reservation. Nor does the hokey story and chaste romance.

Hannah Montana: Dolly Parton Returning for a Final Episode

Singing and songwriting legend Dolly Parton is returning to play Miley Stewart’s “Aunt Dolly” on one of the final episodes of Hannah Montana. It will be her third appearance on the Disney Channel series. Parton supposedly agreed to be in 2009’s Hannah Montana: The Movie but her character was ultimately cut from the script.

In an interview with Terry Morrow, Parton shared the news and said of series star Miley Cyrus, “I’m very proud of her. I think she’s a fabulous artist.”

As fans well know, Hannah Montana is ending after four seasons. Production on the final episodes began in January. A schedule hasn’t been announced but they’re expected to begin airing by mid-year.

Miley, 'I'm Not Obsessed With Attention'

New Miley interview with Ottawa Citizen:
'There's not a lot of time to waste to sit there and be insecure about things, or not confident. I'm like any other girl or guy.. I feel that I'm not good enough for this or not good enough for that. But there's something about me that's like a drive, that I know I can do anything if I set my mind to it.'

Miley has seven more episodes of Hannah Montana to film of the fourth and to to finish her album and then music will become 'kind of my last priority. 'I'm going to take a break from music for a while and just enjoy film life. That's what really inspires me.' She wants people to see her as 'something more than just this quirky Disney girl.'

On Twitter delete [Miley's favorite question to answer over and over again]: 'I just kind of got tired of telling people what I'm doing. I have no normal life, everyone knows what I'm doing and where I'm going, and that's my fault because I'm telling everyone. And then I tweet, I'm here!, and I'm wondering why a thousand fans are outside the restaurant. Well hello, you just told them.'

Miley said she doesn't crave paparazzi & media attention: 'I don't want my life to be what people want to watch more than my films. And more about listening to drama about me than my music. I don't want people to assume that I'm obsessed with media and attention. That's not what gives me the high, it's the work.' On being a role model to girls everywhere around the world:

'If I wasn't a celebrity, no parent could dictate the way that I live, and just because I'm in the spotlight, they shouldn't do it either. My job is to be an actress and a singer and do what I love and be a good person. But it's not my job to be a parent. And I'm done taking on that responsibility.'

Miley Cyrus Responds To Young Stars Acting Too Adult On Camera

Last week Miley Cyrus was able to give a quick interview with E Online at the premiere of “The Last Song” and had this to say about how she felt about the controversy of her and other young stars sometimes acting too adult on camera?

“I think that if you find a script you like and that inspires you, you should do it and not care what anyone else thinks. And that’s what acting is too. It’s just scripts that you genuinely enjoy.”

We have to say she is certainly confident about the young woman she is growing into. What do you think about young stars sometimes acting too adult on camera.

Interview: Miley to Hire Acting Coach

Miley Cyrus is leaving Hannah Montana behind after season 4 and she has also said she is taking a break from music. What does she want to do? Movies. She loved her experience with ‘The Last Song’ and I have a feeling it’s going to do really well at the box office.

Don’t let Miley’s box office success make you think she has it all together and knows her stuff. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, she said that most likely she’ll be hiring an acting coach.

On her acting talent: ‘I’ve not taken like acting lessons or anything but it doesn’t mean I don’t need to because I’m sure I do. Once I watch this film in the theatre I’m probably going to go book an acting coach.. I’m kind of bipolar in my acting choices because I just want to do a little bit of everything.

One day I’m telling my mom, you know, I want to do an action movie and then I want to be doing comedy and then all different types of things. I get a little bored so hopefully I’ll get a chance to do a little bit of everything.’

On boyfriend Liam: ‘He’s a 6ft 4in tall Australian surfer and I’m 5ft 4in from Tennessee and I couldn’t surf if someone gave me ten million dollars so we couldn’t be more opposite. But I went to Australia to visit him and his family and I was like, ‘Omigosh, this looks like Nashville.’ There were like cows everywhere.

I am like, ‘how are you from the opposite side of the planet and your world looks just like mine?’ My dad’s just happy that I have something going on in my life with someone normal. No psychos, so that’s good.’

Miley, 'Music Industry Isn't Based On Fans'

Miley Cyrus chatted with Pasadena Star about finally getting her new album done so that she can move onto more important things: 'I've gone these last five years with everyone telling me what to do. Now it's up to me and what I think is right in my career; so I'm just going in my own direction.. I kind of don't want to do music right now. [The record is more pop and definitely edgier] kind of like The Killers. That's my favorite band.'

I remember when I lived in Nashville before all of this. I would call my radio station and say, `Can I hear Justin Timberlake' and fans could call in. It was all about the fans. Now it's all about what commercials can we play. What gossip can we hear about. Who do we owe so we can play their music. It's not like it's based on the fans anymore. And that's the kind of industry I want to be in,

One based on the fans and doing things for the people that support you."yrus admits she has to be careful about what roles she chooses next. I still want (my fans) to know who I am, but I want to extend my audience. I want to continue to do what I love, but not just be the same person, over and over.'

On life: 'I feel being compared to a normal 17-year old is a little bit hard to do. I don't feel like that's who I am necessarily. I think the media likes to use that to their advantage sometimes. `She's only 17, why is she doing this?' And then they like to act like I'm older sometimes ..(and) when it works to their advantage, they want me to be younger.

It's interesting never getting off this ride. This go, go, go, go, go all the time and never stopping. But I think this is a good point. Once the movie comes out and the record comes out and when I go into my next film, I'll be able to have a little bit more time to look back on things and slow down just a little bit.'

On her new film 'LOL (Laughing Out Loud)' an American remake of a 2008 French teen comedy about a mother and daughter with relationship problems. Miley likes the idea of finnding projects like 'LOL' that 'people don't necessarily know here that are really edgy and cool and need to be brought into the States.'

The Last Song - "Behind The Music" [Featurette]

Miley Talks Remaking 'LOL: Laughing Out Loud'

Miley Cyrus chatted with Reuters about remaking 'LOL: Laughing Out Loud' a'really dark, edgy and cool' movie [US remake of a 2009 French movie]. Miley: 'It is pretty gnarly. It is about a daughter who is involved with all the wrong kids, doing drugs, failing school, but the mother has her on this perfect pedestal. I just fell in love with the story.'

On 'The Last Song':

'I had been wanting to get out of what people think as the obvious choice for me to do next. You have no idea how many musicals came to my door. It was so freeing to not be, like 'Alright, I'm happy!' and getting to be real and working with life's real emotions. People are so used to me playing the happy girl. A new chapter is beginning and one that has been my life for the past five years is ending. It is interesting to be leaving my security blanket behind, but also it is exciting for me to get involved in this movie career.'

On her final album: 'This is my last record for a little while. I am going to take a break from music. I just want to continue doing film. I really want to focus and perfect one craft, and that's going to be movies for me. I hope I'll do a record sometime later but for right now, it is the last thing on my mind.' Won't that mean a lot of disappointed young fans? 'Yeah, I know. But hopefully they will go see my movies.'

Miley Talks About Ditching Music After Next Record

Miley Cyrus isn’t joking around when she says it’s time for her to move on from the music biz.

She recently revealed on The View that she’s become a bit disheartened because “the music industry isn’t as positive as I’d like it to be.”
She didn’t backtrack at all when I caught up with her last night at the Hollywood premiere of The Last Song…

“I’ve got a record coming out in June and then I’m done,” she said. “I just want to work in movies. That’s what I like and that’s what I want to be doing.”
The Last Song, opening March 31, is Cyrus’ first major acting project outside of Hannah Montana.

Not only does the flick’s director, Julie Anne Robinson, have high hopes for Cyrus, but so does her costar and real-life beau Liam Hemsworth. He says he wasn’t surprised when Cyrus held her own during the movie’s more dramatic scenes.

“You know how she feels when she’s feeling down and you know how she feels when she’s feeling up,” he said. “She’s a very expressive person and that works on the screen. It really does, and she’s really good.”

Miley Is Not Too Young to Mentor on Idol

American Idol executive producer Ken Warwick defends having international pop God Miley Ray Cyrus as a celebrity mentor on American Idol for the No. 1 Billboard hits themed show. ..proved invaluable.' On Wednesday’s results show, Miley will perform 'When I Look At You,' and new couple Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato 'Make A Wave.' 'All of our contestants use what they learn from the mentors each week to carve their own path in the in the competition, and Miley was no exception to this.'

Miley Cyrus On The Ellen Show March 26

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres set to air on “Ellen” next Wednesday, Cyrus, who also appeared on “American Idol” this week, explains that when she first met Hemsworth, she had no intention of dating him, or anyone else for that matter. “I was actually going through a tough time. I was like, guys just need to be out of my life for a little while,” she explained. “[I thought] ‘I just need to alone.’

“I kind of just wanted to focus on my work. I tend to hide behind my work sometimes,” she says of how she felt at the time. But there was something about Hemsworth that made her change her mind. “But I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, I have been in L.A. for three years and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me. It wasn’t that he wanted the job. That’s just who he is. I was like, ‘Wow, that is super-impressive.’ I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job.’ He’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent.”

The attraction was there for Cyrus, but she wasn’t sure they could make it work. “We started filming and at one point the chemistry was kind of awkward. … I liked him a little bit, he liked me a little bit, but it was awkward,” she said. “Then I was like, ‘OK, just fake it.’ [I said] ‘Please just pretend you like me’ and he was like ‘I don’t have to pretend. I really do like you.’ [Then it was like] ‘OK, you’re going to be my boyfriend. Cool.’ ”

So, how good are things for the pair now? Apparently pretty great. “We’ve been together for 10 months now and I’m really happy,” she said. “I like him more now than I did [before] because we know more about each other.”

Miley also talks further about the reason for her leaving Twitter a while ago, and how much longer the Disney Channel Original Series “Hannah Montana” will be on air.

“The Last Song” is due in theaters Wednesday, March 31.

The View - Interview - March 22

On Monday (March 22) Miley Cyrus followed up her New York City press tour with a stop by "The View," where once again the topic of discussion was the teen star's love life and relationship with "The Last Song" co-star Liam Hemsworth.

"Well, I like him very much ... I love him. He is a great person. He's someone I'm holding onto because we very much connect and we're both very ambitious and have some of the same goals," she told the ladies. "My mom loves him and thinks he's wonderful."

In the sit-down interview, Cyrus also responded to comments she made in Teen Vogue where she said she and Hemsworth were "deeper" than most people. "OK, it's not that I'm smarter or better — the things that matter at the end of the day matters to us," she clarified. "We celebrate every day that we have this job to do and a new task to tackle."

Even though Cyrus performs on television and in front of audiences of thousands, she admitted that meeting Hemsworth's parents in his native Australia made her nervous. "I perform for 80,000 people, and I was nervous on the plane," she said. "I'm not getting married! Don't get crazy! I think it was kind of a respect thing. He has no family in L.A. — his family is 20 hours away."

But not all the talk was about Hemsworth — during the chat, Cyrus revealed she has a new album dropping this summer. "I have a record coming out in June, and that's going to be the last thing I do in music for a while," she shared. "I just want to do films 'cause I like being someone else. My music is kind of like my diary. I'll always do that ... I just feel like the music industry isn't as positive as I'd like it to be."

Miley Cyrus - Good Morning America - March 22

Getting an early start to the day's promotions,Miley Cyrus was all smiles as she visited "Good Morning America" in New York City on Monday (March 22).

Being interviewed by Robin Roberts, the "Hannah Montana" hottie made the stop to promote her upcoming movie "The Last Song," which hits theaters on March 31.

Talking about working alongside her real-life beau, Liam Hemsworth, Miss Cyrus told, "It was really good [working with Liam], because it makes you want to come to work and ... look good. I'm trying to make people see my work as a real actress and more mature. And when you have someone who loves you and wants you to do well, you really want to help each other, and you want to make each other look good. We both were trying to get our point across [that] we can do more than [what people know us as]."

Also talking about her movie dad, Greg Kinnear, Miley gushed, "He is very laid-back, but he's really funny. Mostly, he plays deeper darker roles, and he's so hilarious. ... So many times I felt like I was back on the ['Hannah Montana'] set with my dad."

Miley Cyrus "I'd Be On Crazy Medication If I Stayed At School"

"Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus has apparently made a new observation -- she wouldn't have survived in high school without medication.
In a new interview strategically done before the opening of her new film "The Last Song" next week, Miley jokes that high school probably wasn't best meant for her personality:

"When I was in middle school I was told I might have [ADD or ADHD]...If I were in high school now they would most likely tell me I do have one or both of those and put me on some sort of crazy medication."
"When I was eight years old, people were going, 'Oh, my God. She's crazy! What's she going to be like when she's 17?' Well I'm 17 now and I'm doing pretty well for whatever it is that I am."

Once again, Miley talks about herself with the utmost confidence, which she probably has earned the right to do considering that she already has a successful Disney Channel show under her belt and has sold millions of albums around the world.
"The Last Song" hits theaters on March 31, and if everything goes as planned it should capture the hearts (and money) of teens everywhere.

Do you think Miley really would have needed "crazy medication" in high school, or is she deliberately saying this for publicity? Feel free to share your thoughts below and stay tuned for more of the latest news.

Miley Cyrus Talks Bret Michaels Duet, 'Sex And The City 2' At The Oscars

Rocker Bret Michaels is no stranger to the company of lovely ladies, thanks to his career as singer of Poison, not to mention his "Rock of Love." But it was another recent collaboration with 17-year-old "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus on the racy song "Nothin' to Lose" that really raised eyebrows. When MTV News caught up with Cyrus on the Academy Awards red carpet, she explained the pair's unlikely duet.

"He's a friend of my family," Cyrus said. "I was in the studio already, so I did a few harmonies for him."

Cyrus is also working on an album of her own, which she said will be out later this summer. For now, the starlet is promoting her upcoming Nicholas Sparks-penned film "The Last Song," which opens March 31 and co-stars her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.

"I'm super excited. I can't wait for everyone to see it," she said.

With roles in "The Last Song," "Sex and the City 2" and "Wings," a Disney adaption of the young-adult fairy novel by Aprilynne Pike, Cyrus said she is focusing on spreading her acting wings.

"I hope to always give myself a challenge," Cyrus said of her burgeoning career. "I never want to get myself into a rut."

Clad in a champagne-colored Jenny Packham bustier gown, Cyrus said she still finds herself star-struck on the red carpet, especially in the company of "SATC2" co-star Sarah Jessica Parker. "[She's] my fashion icon," Cyrus gushed, adding that sharing a red-carpet scene with Parker in the sequel was a "dream."

Universal City Walk

From Destinee: 'We met Miley Cyrus and her friend at Universal City Walk Hollywood on St. Patrick's Day. She wasn't wearing any green and my little one wanted to pinch her but she then showed us her nails were painted green, so cute.. She was so nice and took several pictures with us.'

New Song: I Hope You Find It

This is a new song from the Last Song Soundtrack. Remember to purchase it on Itunes.

Lyrics:
These clouds aren't goin' nowhere, baby
Rain keeps comin' down
I just though I'd try to call you, baby
For you got too far out of town
And I hope that you get this
That I'm leavin' for you
Cuz I hate that you left without
Hearin' that I needed you to

And I hope you find it
What your looking for
And I hope it's everything you'd
Dream your life would be so much more
And I hope your happy
Where ever you are
I wanted you to know that
That nothin's gunna change that
And I hope you find it

Am I supposed to hang around and wait forever
Last words that I said
But that was nothin' but a
broken heart talkin baby
You know that wasen't what I meant
Call me up, let me know that you
gettin' this message im leavin' for you
Cuz I hate that you left without
Hearin' the words I needed you to

And I hope you find it
What your looking for
And I hope it's everything you'd
Dream your life would be so much more
And I hope your happy
Where ever you are
I wanted you to know that
That nothin's gunna change that
And I hope you find it

Whatever it is out there that you were

And I hope you find it
What your lookin for
And I hope its everyting you'd dream

Hannah Montana - Season 4 - New Song

Parade Magazinge: Nobody's Teen Queen

'I hate being thought of as a product,” Miley Cyrus says as she waits for her sushi in a Studio City, Calif., restaurant. “It’s my biggest pet peeve.”

The 17-year-old singer and actress has just driven in from Venice Beach, where she was working all day in a recording studio. She’s taller than one expects, and much of that height is taken up by her long legs, which the whole restaurant noticed when she loped toward our table in a pair of ultra-short white shorts. “I am not a doll, and people want to treat me that way,” she continues in that distinctive voice of hers—slightly hoarse yet hitting all its notes. She fiddles with her thick braid. “They say, ‘Now this is what we need to do to your makeup, and this is what I want you to wear,’ and I’m like, ‘Dude, I choose.’ When I was 12, that was okay. But I’m older now. I have an opinion. I have my own taste.”

Yet, because the Disney Channel has been so successful in branding and boxing her in as the bubbly embodiment of its
Hannah Montana
franchise, it’s hard not to think of Miley as a durable good. The TV show—about a girl who leads a secret double life as a pop star—and its records, concert tours, books, clothing, and lunch boxes have earned more than $1 billion since the series first aired in 2006. This year marks Miley’s final season as Hannah. Does it feel like she’s saying farewell to a friend?

“I’m not sure. What I am sure about is I’m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be…well, to not be somebody I’m not exactly,” she says, choosing her words carefully. “As I’ve grown into it, I’ve grown out of it. Does that make sense? When I was 12, I thought, ‘I want to be famous all the time! I want everybody to recognize me!’” she drawls, falling into an exaggerated version of the Southern accent of her Tennessee childhood. Miley was raised outside Nashville by her dad, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, and her mom, Tish, both of whom have been instrumental in guiding her career. Dolly Parton is her godmother. “Now I just want to be chill and have my private life,” she insists. “When they’re putting me in sparkles and in pink this final season, I have to grit my teeth. I can’t breathe looking like that anymore. A friend came by the set one day and said, ‘You don’t look very happy.’ I said, ‘I’m feeling claustrophobic in all these frills.’”

Miley’s new maturity—and, yes, depth—will be on display when her new movie opens on March 31. In
The Last Song
, she plays a girl with divorced parents—a much darker and angrier character than Hannah—who falls in love for the first time.

During filming, Miley fell in love for the first time herself, with co-star Liam Hemsworth. Gushing about the 19-year-old Aussie, she pulls up a photo of the two of them on her cellphone and tells me she’s flown to Australia to meet his family. “He’s my first serious boyfriend,” she says.

“Well, take that, Nick Jonas and Justin Gaston,” I say, naming two past beaux.

“I know. But Nick and I were so young,” she says. “We really did have a genuine love, but it wasn’t like this. We met when I was 12. I didn’t know who I was. I know who I am now and am so content and full of purpose.” And model Justin Gaston? “He was a good person, so carefree. All I know is that I am so happy right now. I wasn’t last summer after I called it off with Justin and went away to film
The Last Song
. I cried all the way there. The last thing I was expecting to do was to fall in love. I went there thinking the summer was about me and getting focused on my career. But I guess God was like, ‘Girl, here is this amazing guy.’”

Miley’s ease with talking about God points to another aspect of her life—her faith. Before her family moved to L.A. in 2005, she was baptized in a Southern Baptist church as a kind of spiritual insurance policy against big-city life. Yet she no longer frequents church these days.

“My faith is very important to me,” she says. “But I don’t necessarily define my faith by going to church every Sunday. Because now when I go to church, I feel like it’s a show. There are always cameras outside. I am very spiritual in my own way. Let me make it clear, though—I am a Christian. Jesus is who saved me. He’s what keeps me full and whole. But everyone is entitled to what they believe and what keeps them full. Hopefully, I can influence people and help them follow the same path I am on, but it is not my job to tell people what they are doing wrong.”

Is it hard being openly Christian in Hollywood?

“People are always looking for you to do something that is non-Christian,” she answers. “But it’s like, ‘Dude, Christians don’t live in the dark.’ I have to participate in life. If I wear something revealing, they go, ‘Well,
that’s
not Christian.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to go to hell because I’m wearing a pair of really short white shorts.’ Suddenly I’m a slut. That’s so old-school.”

The most heated controversy Miley has faced was over her performance at last summer’s Teen Choice Awards, during which she danced on an ice-cream cart and against a pole as if she were a stripper. Many, particularly parents with young daughters, were outraged—including Mika Brzezinski.

“Who’s she?” Cyrus asks.

“She’s the co-host of
Morning Joe
on MSNBC,” I say. “She became kind of a public scold over your performance. What would you like to say to her and to others who accused you of crossing a line?”

Miley flicks her braid over her shoulder, ready for battle. “My impulse is to say, ‘Get off my case, Mika. Get over it.’ But then I think, ‘Well, that makes me just like her. I’m acting just like everyone else who has some kind of chip on their shoulder.’ My job first is to entertain and do what I love, and if you don’t like it, then change the channel. I’m not forcing you to watch me. I’m not forcing you to talk about me. I would do that pole dance a thousand times again, because it was right for the song and that performance. But, dude, if you think dancing on top of an ice-cream cart with a pole is bad, then go check what 90% of the high schoolers are really up to. It’s funny. I don’t know if a lot of parents remember what they were like as kids. But I’m like, ‘Dude, as if you were an angel!’”

She sighs. “I’ve learned I can’t live for what people are going to say. People are so judgmental—especially parents. You can say what you want about mine,” she says, “but I think the world of my mom and dad. They are the best. I am not afraid to tell them anything. Sometimes they’ll say, ‘Miley, we’re not completely stoked about your decisions,’ but at least they’re not worried at 3 in the morning, wondering where I am. It’s all about communication. I don’t care what stories are written about me or what other parents think, because I know how close I am with my parents.”

“Do you ever resent being perceived as your family’s main breadwinner?” I ask her.

“Sometimes, but my thing is more like I want to take care of them as long as I can, because they sacrificed so much for me. My mom drove me to so many dance classes and choir lessons. I never want her to have to work. I just want to take care of her.”

Miley made another decision that reinforces she’s no longer a kid. In 2008, she legally changed her name to Miley Ray—she was born Destiny Hope. What are the newly minted Miley’s hopes? “I want to travel more,” she says with enthusiasm. “I’ve traveled to a thousand million places, and I haven’t really seen any of them because I’m always in a hotel.” With that, she says goodbye and lopes away. She has so many places to go.

Interview: "I Never See Movies"

Miley Cyrus is growing up, and she wants the world to know.
In her latest film, she plays a rebellious teenager who falls in love for the first time.

Off screen, she fell in love with the same boy - Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. He's back home for the premiere, but his girl reckons she'll never see The Last Song.
Cyrus is probably the world's most famous and influential teen actress, but she is no longer just the singing, dancing Hannah Montana. She's growing up. And in her latest film, she plays an angry, troubled teen, a petty criminal, sent to live with her estranged father, who is dying.

It is based on the novel The Last Song, written by Nicolas Sparks of The Notebook fame.

"It was kinda written for me," says Cyrus. "I had said that I would love to work with Nicolas Sparks, and that got taken down the line to him.
And he started working on this. And said he would love, if it was ever made into a screenplay, he'd love for me to play the role, so I got to name the character, and a lot of things that were put in there are a lot like myself."

She named her character Ronnie after her real-life grandfather Ronald. Her love interest is played by Hemsworth, who then became her real life boyfriend.

"We met for the first time when we first read and had great chemistry then," says Hemsworth, who is struggling to get used to being in the paparazzi spotlight.
"I'm still trying to deal with it. It's one of the hardest things. It's the hardest part of this job. It's a downfall. It's really difficult to have a private life, people photographing you all day and following you.

"We've had times when we've come outside and there has been, seriously, like 30 or more photographers and cameramen and people yelling and screaming.

"It's a far cry from his days as an actor on Neighbours. He scored this role just five weeks after leaving Australia for LA. He lied, telling producers he could play volleyball - a game he hates - and put his health on the line to learn how to scuba dive.

"I found it really hard because I've got really bad sinus across my eyebrows, and I think I popped a blood vessel or something because I was coughing up blood, and migraines and stuff.
"So is it a must see movie ? Well, not for the girlfriend.
"Honestly, it's really weird," says Cyrus. "Liam says I'm the weirdest person in the world. I don't like movies. I don't ever see movies. I've never seen Hannah Montana

Access Hollywood: Miley - I Will Miss Hannah Montana

mandag 15. mars 2010

Miley & Liam - Interview with TeenHollywood.com

Miley, "Hannah Montana" is finishing Season Four. Are you moving on to films?

Miley: Right, now, the Disney Channel is airing one of the last episodes of Season three and now we're finishing up Season four so a new chapter is beginning. What's been my life for the last five years is ending so it's interesting to be leaving my security blanket behind but also it's exciting getting involved with this movie and making me want to just continue to work and do more films.

(We had a) complete ending for Season three and now we think our show deserves that too. It's such a huge, big deal in so many kids' lives that I think they don't want to see reruns forever. They want a really respectful ending and it really deserves that because it's been such an amazing journey.

We heard that Liam was a real gentleman and that impressed you?

Miley: Yeah. He opened the door (for me) and I'm like 'he opened the door. That was good! He's got the part!' And everybody else was like 'just read with him first'. 'Oh, okay but he's got it. I don't care'. (laughter)

I didn't want to be the one that made the final decision because if he ended up being crazy, I didn't want to be the one that ruined the whole thing but he ended up being awesome and it was so fun. I think I was a little bit intimidated and it's hard for someone to do that to me. It's true.
